Martyn Sandbrook

Martyn Sandbrook's association with Steve Williams goes back nearly 30 years, from the early days, back in the North East, through the founding of Resource Systems, up to the present day.

Steve's untimely death in July of 2005 has deeply affected all those he came into contact with, especially the people who knew him before he became such a successful global figure. Martyn is one of a select band of people who are determined that Steve's work should continue, and that this will be a fitting memorial to a man who has affected so many peoples' lives worldwide.

Martyn began his career in telecommunications and electronics, moved into field service and then switched into technical documentation and training. It was during the latter days of this phase that he decided to start writing software - at that time he just considered this to be an interesting extension of the documentation role. When it became obvious that technical documentation was not going to last as a lifetime career he decided to go straight and write software full-time.

Martyn's software involvement goes way back to when Windows was just a twinkle in Bill Gates' eye and the World Wide Web was something to do with global arachnid entanglement. The rest is history. Martyn now writes and supports all of the software tools that Resource Systems deploys, increasingly on a global basis.

He lives with his partner Caroline "somewhere in Cambridgeshire" together with a small collection of boats, a tank of tropical fish and a stuffed cat .
